0:00:00 – (Alessia): It’s October. Well, actually I’m recording this in September, but you’re to hear it in October. So I’m excited because we have our first episode of the October series. I feel like, okay, I have to give a little bit of a shout-out to Kalyn Nicholson here because I’m really feeling her energy with this October podcast episode series. But she gave me a good idea. She always does this YouTuber thing in which she does a lot of October fall creepy Halloween-type vibes for her podcast and her Vlog. And I love it and I don’t plan on doing that much, but I do want to at least use this time to give us some new things to talk about.

0:00:57 – (Alessia): So we’re going to be talking about light versus dark feminine energy. What do you think of when you think of feminine energy? It’s interesting because my answer to this question would usually be things like being soft, quiet, and having patient energy. But yet some of the times when I feel the most feminine are when I’m energetic, wild and confident. And this was something that always really confused me because how do I feel the most feminine when I’m wearing all black and in my high heels and just like slaying?

0:01:32 – (Alessia): It’s something that feminine energy used to seems so different from what it is. And I feel the most feminine when I am really being confident and just true to myself. But yet I think of feminine energy as being less and as letting people decide for you what you are and things like the color pink and stuff. That’s what I think of when I think of being feminine, which is so interesting and weird and terrible because it’s just ingrained in my brain at that point. That’s what society tells us, that’s what society has always been like. So even though it’s not how I personally feel about being feminine, it’s still what comes to my mind when I ask the question, what do you think of when you think of feminine energy?

0:02:19 – (Alessia): I was wondering why is it that I feel the most confident in myself when I have this different type of energy? And I’ve heard about this term so many different times, but I’ve never actually taken the time to sit down and look into it until now. And the reason why is because femininity is a spectrum. And there are two main sides to the feminine energy that you can notice. And again, it’s a spectrum. So you go back and forth and there’s in between and everything.

0:02:49 – (Alessia): But the two main are light feminine energy and dark feminine energy. So light feminine energy is think of things like being patient, elegant, forgiving, nurturing, innocent, feeling so many emotions, et cetera, versus dark feminine energy is things like being authentic, true to yourself, fearless, passionate, confident, wild and free, and feeling like you have power. And one of the reasons that people have been embracing dark feminine energy these days is a way to find your own power and find yourself rather than letting others decide it for you. Aka let’s challenge the patriarchy.

0:03:31 – (Alessia): I love this idea of dark feminine energy. And I think, I mean, I don’t know how much I would maybe relate to the labels of it. I feel like dark feminine energy to me just sounds like a bad thing. And I don’t think either of them are. And it’s just something that I’m not sure how I feel about the terms and I’m also not really sure about how I feel about there being just two separate ends of the spectrum. I feel like it’s just being feminine as a whole is so much more than what we have defined it to be in the past and even today.

0:04:08 – (Alessia): And I think that it’s time that we embrace our power. It’s time that we embrace the people that we are and just really be us. So this was something that was really helpful for me to read. I tend to not like to put labels to things or name things as much. So I may not always call it dark feminine energy, but it is something that is feminine energy and you can be you no matter who that is. So aside from that, though, how can you embrace it?

0:04:39 – (Alessia): Again, it’s a spectrum. You don’t just have dark feminine energy or just have light feminine energy. You have a little bit of everything and you feel it at different moments. To me, I almost think of it as like light feminine energy is introverted and respectful and aligned with yourself, versus dark feminine energy is more extroverted and powerful in knowing who you are. So they both are good and they both have good aspects to them and you feel them each and every way.

0:05:09 – (Alessia): Maybe you’re more of an extroverted person, but you are going to have some introverted moments. Some moments where you just need to take a little moment and just breathe. Or maybe you’re an introvert, but you are going to have some extroverted moments around people that you maybe really trust or feel like really understand you. So again, I feel like the whole aspect of femininity is a spectrum and it’s something that you go back and forth and you just exist.

0:05:34 – (Alessia): You just exist. I feel like that’s the best way I can explain it, and hopefully that’s making sense. So take that as you will. But that part thinking of it introvert versus extrovert helps me process a little better. But yeah, take it as you will. And with the energies and the different types of that, it’s important to really feel aligned. It’s important to really take care of yourself with it because both sides of these energy can also lead to pain.

0:06:01 – (Alessia): You can have a healthy relationship with your feminine energy or you might actually need to heal it. For example, one of the things I would think of if you had a poor relationship with your light feminine traits. One of the traits is forgivings. So you can have a good relationship with that and know your boundaries, but also be able to be forgiving because that is something that’s important. But when taking it a little bit too far, you may take that into things like people pleasing and putting others first and forgetting to take care of yourself.

0:06:30 – (Alessia): On the other side of that, one of the dark feminine energy traits is authenticity and confidence. And that can be a great thing. But when not aligned, you might end up acting out of your ego and being reckless. So I feel like light feminine traits are the traits that we often think of when we think of femininity and the good parts of that. Not things like, oh, just succumbing to what other people want, or just not saying anything or not voicing up your opinions or anything, but like the good parts of it, of being patient, forgiving, respectful. I mean, all of those things are good, but that’s not the only thing that makes up being feminine.

0:07:10 – (Alessia): And so I think that’s really important to talk about that the dark feminine energy is also important in accepting yourself and being who you are. Sometimes I feel bad for being a certain way or when I have more dark feminine traits. So for example, there are a lot of decisions I’ve had to make in my life where are really important decisions. Things like letting go of a relationship, things like setting boundaries and saying, hey, no, I deserve to be respected. It’s a hard thing to do. And sometimes you almost feel egocentric or selfish. But you see men do that all the time. You see men stand up for themselves all the time. We feminine people are the opposite in which we almost don’t really have the confidence or the permission at least that we feel like we have the permission to even take any boundaries for ourself to take any sort of confidence. So that is where the dark feminine traits come in and where I feel like for a lot of people, labeling that and bringing it into existence and showing people that it’s a thing and that it’s okay is really important.

0:08:19 – (Alessia): So it’s all about healing and finding balance, true to you. So before I end this episode, one of the things that I was kind of thinking about doing is when I was doing research for this, I ended up finding a quiz about the different energy types. And I figured, you know what, let’s try it. Let’s just take the quiz and see. So this quiz is do you have light or dark feminine energy? It’s a BuzzFeed quiz.

0:08:48 – (Alessia): We’re just going to do it. It’s going to be fun. Okay, first question. Favorite aesthetic? We’ve got coquette, academia, victorian vintage cottage core or retro? That is a really difficult question to answer. I have a feeling that I’m going to struggle with this. Maybe academia right now, but I feel like I just changed so often. I also just have my opinions on the academia and everything like that, but that’s a whole other episode.

0:09:23 – (Alessia): Favorite quote? Okay, there’s a lot of them here. First one is the most alluring thing a woman can have is confidence. The second one is elegance is the beauty that never fades. The third one is strong women don’t have attitudes, we have standards. And the fourth one is if your actions create a legacy that inspires others to dream more, learn more, do more, and become more, then you are an excellent leader.

0:09:48 – (Alessia): That is hard. I don’t know which one I am going to be choosing. I don’t know. I feel like lately I’ve been really vibing with the strong. Women don’t have attitudes, we have standards. So I’m going to press this again. I feel like it changes so often. Like I could take it in a few more minutes and it would still be different. Okay, next one is what’s your favorite season? Spring. That was easy. Sometimes autumn, but we’re going to do spring right now.

0:10:14 – (Alessia): Pick a hobby. Poetry or writing, sewing, knitting, crocheting, art, photography, reading, baking, playing an instrument or makeup. Okay. I am a photographer for those who don’t know, so I have to pick photography. The next one. If you could be any of these, which would you be? A siren, a fairy, an angel, a vampire, a princess, a knight, a sorcerer or a nymph. That was a lot of options. I don’t know. Maybe a princess.

0:10:46 – (Alessia): I don’t know. I have no idea. Okay, if you could live anywhere, where would it be? A castle from an era gone by among the ocean and the stars in an ancient forest as its guardian in a lighthouse guiding wayward ships. A peaceful village of rest and serenity or a manor that seems locked in time. Okay, definitely a peaceful village. 100%. Lastly, favorite famous lady. I don’t even know who some of these people are, I’m not gonna lie.

0:11:21 – (Alessia): But Michelle Obama is one and she’s cool. Or Maya Angelou, and that’s also really hard. I gotta go for Maya Angelo. I think I have light feminine energy according to this. That’s it. That’s it. That’s the whole thing. I’m not gonna read this. Yeah, I mean, I guess that’s the only thing. It just says you have light feminine energy, which I feel like changes so often, but cool. There it is. I’ll see you guys next time.

0:11:58 – (Alessia): Close.
